Я, вечно носящий остроухий осколок "Компакта" в своем третьем сердце, вместе со своим хорошим другом готовлю музыкальный портал под названием "Декабрь". "Декабрь" - потому что пора остановиться и покончить со всем этим. А потом начать снова. Иногда здесь будут появляться рецензии, подготовленные на конец года.

Бенни Андерссон, Бьёрн Ульвеус, Агнета Фэльтскуг и Анни-Фрид «Фрида» Люнгстад записывались вместе едва ли не десяток лет, одновременно пестуя собственные проекты. Одна из целого ряда песенок, спетых квартетом, — Ring Ring — отчего-то попала в шведский отборочный тур «Евровидения» и, хотя заняла лишь третье место и в финал не прошла, стала большим хитом. В самом деле, сколько можно быть Бьёрном, Бенни, Агнетой и Фридой, подумал Стиг Андерсон, владелец студии, в которой квартет временами музицировал, а Бьёрн подрабатывал сопродюсером. Пора создавать коммерческий проект!

Первая пластинка нового старого коллектива вышла чрезвычайно сырой. На звуковые дорожки просто запихали то, что было готово на данный момент: и Ring Ring, намекавшую на блестящее будущее, и People Need Love, с которой Андерссон и Ульвеус прославились в прошлом году, и целую кучу старательных калек Элтона Джона, The Beatles и прочего мейнстрима.

Всё, за что пластинку можно похвалить, — это замечательный трафарет, с помощью которого Бенни и Бьёрн перенесли в свои нотные тетради чужие находки. Восторг от того, как обработан вокал в She’s My Kind of Girl, вскоре сменяется разочарованием: ведь это когда-то было, и тогда было уместно и смело, а теперь... Искусные в своей простоте аранжировки, ритмы, гармонии — не более чем ученичество вплоть до бессильного плагиата.

Но когда разум устает, ухо все еще танцует: Бенни и Бьёрн показали себя здесь копиистами ужасающей силы. Если закрыть глаза на культурный багаж, придраться почти не к чему — звук идеален. Попадаются на редкость скучные и шаблонные вещи вроде I Saw It in the Mirror, Me and Bobby and Bobby’s Brother или He Is Your Brother, терпеть которые нет уже сил, но на пике зевоты неожиданно проскальзывает интересная (хоть и до боли знакомая) нотка, и тогда думаешь: «Ну ладно. Пускай».

Увы, авторы не последовали своему же совету: This is the part that she likes to play / But she knows the fun would go away / If she would play it every day.

И все-таки даже в самых банальных по мелодике и аранжировке композициях этого альбома чувствуется, что дело не в бесталанности исполнителей/композиторов, а в недовостребованности четкости, романтичности, мягкости, силы женского дуэта. Это видно всюду, где слишком уж прямолинейно воспроизводятся радийные хиты — когда поют мужчины, все бухгалтерски уныло, когда вступают женщины, песня уносится куда-то в другую сторону (Love Isn’t Easy). И тогда даже дивчины Фила Спектора им не сестры. Перед тем, как подпевка грянет Just like Cinderella, всякий раз хочется задержать дыхание, чтобы насладиться зашкаливающей чистотой огненного полета по-над танцполом. Вдвоем Фрида и Агнета создают неповторимый тембр, реют в облаках, словно воздушный змей. В главной песне, ради которой, собственно, и была записана пластинка, столько трогательных, необязательных вокальных штришков, что только слушать и слушать. Увы, подобным эпикуреизмом нас здесь больше не побалуют.

Ring Ring тем и хороша, что не вокал встроен в музыку, но, наоборот, рок-н-ролл догоняет Фриду и Агнету, которым здесь все позволено. К сожалению, Бенни, Бьёрн и Стиг не сразу отпустят свой счастливый билет на свободу. Придется перетерпеть еще один альбом.

Коммунисты Петербурга и Ленобласти возмущены экранизацией «Обитаемого острова» братьев Стругацких, и вызываются научить Федора Бондарчука, как снимать продолжение фильма. Они распространили соответствующее обращение, пишет svobodanews.ru.

Вот его текст:

«Активисты Межрегиональной организации "Коммунисты Петербурга и Ленобласти" горячо поддержали позицию руководства партии относительно клеветнического и американизированного фильма "Обитаемый остров" единоросса Бондарчука:

Екатерина Петрова, секретарь Волховского Райкома КП:

"Фильм мне пересказали товарищи по партии. Бондарчук взял на себя огромную ответственность - снимать про комсомольца 2157 года, и , конечно, опозорился! Актер Степанов играет с такой прической, что не поймешь - мужчина он или женщина... А вульгарный Куценко фактически пародирует образ подпольщика. И все это с целью приучить молодежь к мысли, что коммунизма не будет, и что на других планетах нет компартий. Скажем решительное "нет" нытику и подражателю западного секса  и насилия - Бондарчуку. От единороссов, придумавших 122 закон, нечего ждать хороших и добрых дел!"

Вероника Клиновицкая, член КП, государственный советник первого класса:

" Если ты берешься ставить роман Стругацких, будь достоин первоисточника, а не делай шаляй-валяй. Если ты русский кинорежиссер, ставь русский фильм, а не копируй рабов Голливуда. Игра Степанова совершенно неотличима по качеству от игры компьютерного монстра-голована. 90 % фильма - компьютерная графика, а Стругацкие писали о братстве коммунистов в космосе. Хоть бы нас спросили - какие бывают подпольщики и политкаторжане! Куценко - этот клоун в сарафане с волосатыми ногами - специально взял себе роль Вепря, чтобы высмеять коммунистов Петербурга."

"Я прочитал эту книгу Стругацких, будучи школьником. И мне смешно смотреть на смазливого Тарзана-блондинчика, в которого единоросс Бондарчук превратил бойца - интербригадовца , отличника боевой и политической подготовки Максима Каммерера. Голубоглазый ангелочек, твое место в будуарах похотливых жен олигархов, а не в подполье Саракша! "

 Любовь Еронина, второй секретарь Союза коммунистической молодежи, зарегистрированного Росрегистрацией:

"Бондарчук оскорбил меня и всех девушек России. А еще Китая. В фильме Каммерер изменяет социалистической девушке с невыразительной облученной с башни официанткой , и когда родная советская бабушка стыдит его, смеется как беспринципный ловелас. Коммунисты будущего такими не были и никогда не будут! Земля не примет обратно предателя. Я призываю Стругацкого снять свое имя с титров этого фильма- пощечины."

Член КП заслуженный учитель России Алексей Романов:

"Эта книга была написана Стругацкими к юбилею ВЛКСМ. Максим Каммерер - ленинградец, коммунист, честный парень, какими и будут ленинцы 2157 года. А у много пережившего Вепря сорок лет партийного стажа, о чем прямо сказано в книжке. Тогда как в небрежно снятом блокбластере Бондарчука Максим ни слова не говорит о коммунизме. Просто смешно! Артист, исполняющий роль главного подпольщика, никогда не был бы принят в компартию Саракша и в любую другую, т.к. он извращенец и участник гей-парадов. Единороссы загубили талант Федора Бондарчука, и в этом еще одно преступление партии российского капитализма!" 
 
Нет – извращению книги о комсомольцах будущего. Бойкотируйте «Обитаемый остров»
Позор – Бондарчуку, преклоняющемуся перед кровавым Голливудом!

В 1969 году лондонские жители австралийского происхождения Энтони Бурк и Джон Рендалл купили в зоомагазине львенка. В то время это было абсолютно легально. Когда Кристиан подрос, любители животных отправили его зоологу Джорджу Адамсону, который изучал львов в Кении. Ученому удалось благополучно вернуть большой кошке вкус к дикой жизни.

Год спустя Бурк и Рендалл посетили Кению и встретились со своим воспитанником. К удивлению скептиков, Кристиан признал своих бывших хозяев и встретил их с распростертыми объятиями — в буквальном смысле. И даже представил их своей жене! О знаменательной встрече был снят документальный фильм, а в 1971 году Бурк и Рендалл написали книгу «Лев по имени Кристиан» (A Lion Named Christian).

U2’s track “Window in the Skies”, released on the 18 album, and due to be released as a single on January 11, has been featured in a music video of edited footage of other performers. The song includes references to the Make Poverty History campaign, with lines like “all debts are removed”, and “Can’t you see what our love has done”. The music video includes footage of a wide range of performers ranging from The Who to Beyonce, alongside footage of African children.

Filming for Window in the Skies was directed by Gary Koepke, one of the founding partners in advertising agency Modernista!. Fresh footage largely consisted of crowd scenes at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, Melbourne, in which 300 lucky fans got to groove with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen.

Post production at The Mill, New York, was done by creative director Angus Kneale, producers Verity Grantham and Dan Roberts, and lead Flame artist Dan Williams. The art team included flame artists Dirk Greene, Richard de Carteret, Westley Sarokin, Gavin Wellsman, Mark French, Aska Otagke, Cole Schreiber, Smoke artists Jeff Robins and Tristian Wade, Combustion artists Jeanette Willford, Anu Nagaraj and Winston Lee, Telecine artists Fergus McCall and Sal Malfitano, support artists Gigi Ng and Mary Casey, 3D animators Ben Smith, Pete Hamilton, Kevin Ives, Jin Choi, Emily Meger and Wyatt Seavarese.

“It was a highly collaborative process�? said Mill Creative Director Angus Kneale. The Mill New York assembled one of the more unique workflow environments for the project. Two editorial workstations were integrated into the Flame suite. Dan Williams along with a sizeable team at The Mill New York integrated all the footage and carefully finessed the lip-sync to match the lyrics. It was important to maintain the magic of the spot by producing mouths that felt natural and unaffected. A range of techniques were used, mostly simple time warps and speed changes. In some rare cases, complex mouth manipulations were performed in order to achieve the required sync. It was important that the work generated did not detract from the integrity of the video. In addition to the seamless effects work, the theme of light and red was used to tie everything together. Extra light effects were added to emphasize the melody of the piece and give the images their own rhythm.
